Job Summary:

To provide sub-specialized services for the diagnosis and management of diseases under the scope of care of the related sub-specialty.

Principal Duties:

1. 
   
2. Performing the professional duties of a sub-specialist in accordance with the delineation of the scope of care and privileges as recommended by the Chief of department and approved by the Credentialing Committee.
   
3. Performing his / her duties in the outpatient clinic according to CPP of KFMC OPD.
   
4. Providing the needed care to his/her patients in the wards.
   
5. Performing the needed procedures according to the privileging.
   
6. Providing consultation services to the in and out patient services in his/her area of expertise.
   
7. Sharing in the on-call duties as per the duty schedule according to the KFMC CPP.
   
8. Supervising the work of the assistant and/or associate consultants, professional development of the junior physicians and interns, and provides his/ her evaluation of their work at the request of the Chief of Service.
   
9. Assuring performing medical documentation and charting in eligible and professional way and to supervise the documentation of the rest of the team.
   
10. Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues and patients.
    
11. Working as a member of the team and to share administrative responsibilities.
    
12. Undertaking administrative duties whenever needed associated with the care of his/her patients under the direction of the division head.
    
13. Providing patient and family education according to patient's status and needs.
    

Educational Requirements:

• 
  
• Successful completion of Sub-Specialty Fellowship training approved by SCHS and acceptable to KFMC with a minimum of one (1) year of Sub-Specialty training in one of the recognized countries in Saudi Arabia
• 
  
• Certification by the appropriate subspecialty, if one exists in the certifying country.
• 
  
• Training and post certification experience equal to or greater than seven (7) years in a Secondary or Tertiary care facility
• 
  
• Independent practice in the Sub-Specialty
• 
  

 

Experience Requirements:

3 years working experience in sub-specialty area
