• Design, adapt and implement supply chain strategies to changing market conditions to meet cost and quality objectives.
• Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, such as Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial and Finance Depts.
• Review forecasts and production plan schedules to make decisions concerning inventory requirements and lead time.
• Manage activities related to purchasing schdules, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing and distribution.
• Develop and implement procedures or systems to evaluate and select vendors. Monitor vendor performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Participate in the coordination of new product development, engineering changes, product line extensions etc. to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders or other agencies for procurement of materials or services.
