- Internal Audit Plans and Programs
- Oversee the provision of a professional auditing service in order to ensure the proper implementation of audits plans and programs and recommend areas of improvement
- Direct the provision of an internal control risk assessment in order to ensure adherence to defined standards and legislative requirements
- Seek the Director General approval on the Internal Audit plans and mechanisms ensuring alignment of all CTC functions in order to promote the achievement of organizational strategy
- Internal Audit Control
- Recommend the development and implementation of internal audit plan to maximal operational efficiency
- Develop necessary internal controls in order to ensure that systems operate effectively and in order to identify potential problems
- Identify activities for audit coverage in order to evaluate their significance and assess the degree of risk areas
- Design and schedule audit programs in order to ensure adequate audit coverage and mitigation of the identified audit risks
- Internal Audit Follow-up
- Oversee financial, operational and information systems actions undertaken by the functions in order to address internal audit report recommendations and follow up on their resolution to ensure that operational efficiency is maximized
- Internal Audit Awareness
- Serve as an educational resource for CTC Leadership by keeping it informed on legislation, trends and other issues that might affect CTC’s effectiveness and vulnerability to risk
- Lead and direct the provision of awareness sessions on the role of internal audit and the implemented internal controls to CTC employees in order to ensure compliance to defined standards and legislative requirements
- Risk Assessment
- Assess and identify potential and actual control risks and prepare a risk based audit strategy and annual audit plan to protect CTC from unnecessary risk
- Strategy
- Participate and contribute to the development of CTC strategy by providing input and plans in line with the overall strategic objectives
- Develop the department strategy in line with the CTC strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing units strategies across CTC
- Ensure that the departmental strategic plan is developed and implemented in line with CTC’s vision, mission and strategic objectives
- Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Monitor the implementation of policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls in line with IIA standards and principles and ensure that all related requirements are fulfilled
- Budgeting
- Prepare the Internal Audit budget, in coordination with the Finance Section in order to ensure alignment with budget guidelines
- Monitor financial performance versus budget to keep track of costs, ensure areas of unsatisfactory performance are rectified promptly and improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
- Leadership
- Manage the effective achievement of the unit objectives through the leadership of Internal Audit – setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and unit performance
- Identify training needs and contribute to human capital development of the department
- Communicate CTC vision across the department and ensure awareness and dissemination of the strategic objectives
- Change Management
- Lead and direct the management of change through continuous improvement of department systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international/ local best practice’ and changes in international/ local standards which demand proactive action plans
- Reporting
- Ensure that all department’s reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet CTC requirements, policies and standards
- Ensure that Internal Audit reports (e.g. dashboards) are submitted on a regular basis
- Related Assignments
