Strategic Contribution:
* Long term development projects for targeted customer and market needs
* Positioning the Company as a technology leader in the industry
Budgeting, Time & Cost Control:
* Manage lab resources effectively.
Customer Relationship Management:
* Liaise with commercial manager, technical services engineer, and salespeople to define customer needs.
Development of New Products:
* Development of new wire and cable compounds
* Development of customer focused compounds
* Analysis of competitive and unknown materials
Resolution of internal Issues:
* Support production and quality departments with technical advise and material/formulation related issues
Build and Maintain Quality and Regulatory System:
* Evaluate and make recommendations on raw materials.
Communications and Working Relationships:
Internal:
* Communicates with primary producer and masterbatch sales people as well as technical service group to determine their research needs
* Communicate with plant/process personnel to provide technical support to the plant for scale up of developed products and processes
* Communicates with commercial manager and R&D managers to develop long term development projects
* Prepares succinct technical reports for internal users.
External:
* Communicate with raw material suppliers regarding new products and formulations
* Communicate with lab equipment and pilot process equipment suppliers in order to provision the lab for specific development projects
* Communicate with customers and participate in customer visits when requested by sales or technical service people
* Participate in technical and trade conferences as part of training or marketing activities.
