• Managing the QC team and coordinate their daily activities to ensure optimum resource planning and a fully motivated competent workforce. To take corrective action when necessary.
• Validation of Welding Procedures Specifications & manufacturing processes (mill set-up).
• Implementing and maintaining QC processes throughout the whole process.
• Monitoring and enforcing compliance and level of work standards across the QC functions.
• Ensuring that work is carried out efficiently and paperwork is maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable standards.
• Providing a central point of communication for all departments in respect of product quality issues ensuring that all information is cascaded to and from the QC team. Actively engage in problem solving and solution finding.
• Advising production staff on product information, usage, sort levels, percentage losses and rejections as required.
• To liaise with customer appointed QC’s and assisting customer visits where necessary.
• Recommending disposition of all defective products as per customer requirements & applicable standards/specification and ensuring effective implementation of recommended dispositions.
• Ensuring that the data reported in form of inspection reports is complete and correct.
• Reviewing of reported details of material and product non-conformance (defect reports).
• Monitoring the product throughout the manufacturing process
• Planning, coordinating, and directing quality control program designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards.
• Ensuring that all required tests & procedures are properly applied from production to the delivery of finished product.
• Controlling all inspection, testing activities, measuring and test equipment related to bevel inspection, welding inspection, final inspection and customer inspection.
• Ensuring that the personnel performing inspection and testing are qualified and trained.
• Control of preparation, revision, approval and distribution of the Quality Manual.
• Review and approval of manufacturing procedures, standards, manual procedures, specifications, process control documents, processes and equipment.
• Directing the concerned departments, sections, groups or individuals for effective implementation of quality management system.
• Review and approval of internal audit activities. Ensuring initiation of corrective action(s) to minimize the likelihood of the occurrence of non-conformities.
• Quality-related training and qualification of employees.
• Reporting to senior management on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvements.
• Promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
• Liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality management system.
• Reporting to the senior management with a view to continual improvement of the Quality System at least once annually during the Management Review Meeting.
• Ensures that the Quality System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and API SPEC Q1 9th Edition.
• Ensures that the integrity of Quality Management System is maintained when changes to the Quality Management System are planned and implemented.
• Implementing and maintaining programs, policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with company, client and governmental HSE requirements throughout the company through liaison with HR Head.
• Ensuring that all employees are properly informed about the working, environmental and safety policies of the organization.
• Maintaining relevant safety records and certificates required under the governmental health safety and environmental regulations.
• Planning and executing training activities to increase HSE awareness, knowledge, preparedness and competency.
• Leading regular HSE meetings, managing and mentoring HSE personnel throughout the company; provide support and training assistance.
• Undertaking corrective and preventive measures to ensure a proper environment and health for the organization and its stakeholders including investigations and analysis of accidents or near misses within the organization.
• Deciding implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident and ensure “lessons learned” are communicated throughout the company and are incorporated into the program, if necessary
