Job Purpose
To ensure that the actuarial pricing activities are effectively and efficiently carried out in close coordination and alignment with the under-writing team in order to determine the right pricing strategy, identify opportunities for improvement and mitigate exposure to financial risk.
Key Activities, Responsibilities
1.Strategic Contribution:
· Contribute to the development of the actuarial pricing strategy by providing relevant input and plans in line with the overall business objectives.
· Ensure that the pricing strategy is translated into operational business plans in regard to pricing activities and monitor the performance of execution in order to achieve departmental objectives.
2.Operational:
· Review and assess the under-writers’ pricing strategy to ensure that the current sale price of policies do not affect future balance and identify corrective actions as necessary in order to mitigate risk.
· Analyze and recommend effective pricing strategies and market evaluations in close coordination with Under-Writing team to gain competitive edge over other competitors in the market.
· Stay updated on the potential impacts of proposed regulatory changes on billing, settlement and pricing activities, to inform the Head of Actuarial.
· Manage the actuarial pricing activities in close coordination with under-writing team to ensure accuracy in the pricing policies and alignment with the functional strategy.
3.People Management:
· Coordinate the activities of the team to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient manner, in line with the annual business plans, policies and procedures.
· Identify the respective employees’ training and developmental needs and bridge the knowledge gaps to ensure continuous progression and high-level of competence within the team.
4.Continuous Improvement
· Evaluate the operational infrastructure and management plans for continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of ART’s finance department.
5.Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
· Provide input for the development and implementation of policies, systems, processes and procedures related to own areas, identifying potential areas of improvement, to support efficient and effective operations.
·Ensure compliance with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions within Operations area related to all relevant regulatory directives.
6.Reporting
·Ensure that all relevant periodic and ad-hoc reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the function’s requirements, policies and standards and submit to the Head of Actuarial in order to facilitate strategic planning.
