Team Management
» Interview, select, provide training for, motivate and assess the performance of the team members
» Ensure warehouse staff is well trained and supervised for their job in the logistics area
» Ensure the best level of customer service delivered
» Recommend action plans for improvement, coordinate implementation and monitor follow up
» HR Management: Annual leave planning, liaise with the department for people management.
Logistics Management
» Analyse and identify areas of improvements within the logistics management system
» Ensure shipping shipments as per agreed standards and rules
» Ensure and maintain close follow up with the suppliers to ship the shipments as per the agreed dates
» Maintain close and daily follow up with clearing agents, forwarders to clear and deliver the shipment within minimum number of days
» Update supplier records and conduct supplier evaluations
» Optimize resources
» Negotiate and enhance shipping rates and condition to reduce cost
» Update logistics system data consistently.
» Assign task and objectives to the Purchase coordinators
» Liaise with all departments about on timely sending and receiving orders
» Ensure all work is planned and operated in a correct manner
» Monitor the pace and flow of product from receiving through delivery
» Manage cost control over shipping and clearing cost
» Coordinate with insurance and suppliers regarding shipment claims and surveys
» Liaise with the retail department for stock takes.
» Control the order cycle and associated storage and movement of goods between various sites
» Analyse data to monitor performance and plan improvements in delivery performance.
Health & Safety
» Maintain a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation
» Report any HSE issues that may be a potential hazard.
Customer Relationship Management
» Account management of key sales channel relationships (integrators & customers)
» Manage third party service providers regularly reviewing all working practices and tendering where necessary
» Ensure KPI targets and measures are met as defined by the client contracts and service level agreements and productivity guides.
Operations Management and Reporting
» Develop processes and procedures for all purchases, shipping and clearing shipments functions and implement upon completion
» Analyze performance data to measure productivity, efficiency and performance
» Resolve quality issues and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrences
» Manage financial data flows to strict deadlines to ensure accurate production of monthly management accounts such as accruals, prepayments, cross charges etc
» Implement profit enhancing initiatives
» Regular Management information and accurate reporting
» Monitor performance levels through KPIsReport breach in procedures, company policy or security to senior management
Operations Management & Strategy
» Manages the process of continual research, development and implementation of solutions to improve processes that aid in promoting company profitability
» Establish operational budgets and ensure cost targets are met.
