A Well-known mega size Charity is developing it’s investments’ arm, and are aiming to hire an investment start-up expert to work for the first 6 months on establishing the investments’ sector, and build up the team, the policies, processes and procedures. Implement the required monitoring and controlling tools and systems then start managing the Charity’s investments in low-risk and long term investments which are compliant with Islamic financials and transactions.
The primary purpose of this role is to build the charity’s investment platform, its management capability and reputation, and to grow its current assets and portfolio of funds to sustain network growth and impact.
We are at a pivotal point in our evolution, with the potential for exponential growth. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker, with an entrepreneurial mind-set and a high tolerance for risk, as well as being adaptable and able to deal
Key responsibilities:
1.Strategy
Provide financial models for forecasting/testing the robustness of Charity’s investment strategy.
2. Treasury
Manage Charity’s treasury to ensure capital adequacy.
Monitor/manage risks.
3. Investment
Devise investment strategies to achieve Charity’s strategic objectives.
Undertake due diligence of existing and new partner organizations.
Monitor the performance of loans and investments.
Analyze investments.
Managing investor relationships (including reporting).
4. Development
Develop processes and data systems to enable effective analysis, estimation and decision-making.
Refine existing investment facilities and developing new where required.
5. Fundraising
Develop new investment products.
Support marketing initiatives to secure new investment.
Act as the Director of Business Development to support fundraising activities.
6. Leadership
Develop and inspire a team to implement the strategy and to achieve objectives and targets
Ensure all team members represent The Charity in the best light.
Mentor staff to ensure personal and organizational development.
Additional expectations:
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Charity’s services and products.
Participate in strategy reviews, strategy development, and the operationalization thereof.
Serve cross-functionally in the execution of programs and projects.
Carry out such other reasonable duties as may be required by the Chief Executive.
Changes to responsibilities:
The Chief Executive may amend responsibilities from time to time in line with an evolving organizational strategy, structure and roles.

- Adhere to Charity’s Development Principles.
- Adhere to the requirements of Charity’s Intellectual Property Policy and relevant Data Protection legislation.
- At all times to work in a manner that ensures the health and safety of the post-holder, other staff, colleagues and visitors to Charity’s premises.

- The post is based in Riyadh.
- The post-holder will work as part of a team where constructive co-operation and communication are of particular importance.
Person Specification
Education:
Essential:
- Qualifications in business studies, fund management, statistics, finance, mathematics, accounting or economics
Preferable:
- MBA or similar advanced degree in a related field Financial Services Authority registration/accreditation
Experience:
Essential:
- Consolidated experience in Investment Management, Treasury Management or senior Investment Analyst role
Preferable:
- Experience in real estate investment
- Experience in banks investment
- Experience in frontier markets
- Impact investment/social enterprise experience
- Experience in dealing with multiple currencies/developing country currencies
Key competencies
Essential:
- Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of the alternative finance market.
- Extensive existing personal networks of key early stage investors.
- Experience in structuring equity and debt financing deals.
- Demonstrable experience in both the demand and supply of business finance and investment.
- Skilled influencer and persuader who challenges in an objective way; strong negotiation skills and ability to say ’no’ diplomatically where required.
- Excellent financial modelling skills.
- A practical approach to problem-solving, and the ability to make clear and concise decisions.
- An excellent presenter who is confident in pitching at a Board level.
- Ability to effectively deliver presentations on complex financial and economic topics to a broad audience.
- Knowledge of fund management software.
Superior organizational skills, with an eye for detail. - Practical and technical knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting commercial contracts.
- Effective relationship management skills and demonstrated credibility with investment teams.
- Excellent computer literacy skills, including advanced MS Excel skills, MS Word and MS Outlook.
- Self-disciplined, with the ability to work on your own or as part of a team
