Job Purpose:

The insturmentation engineer is responsible for all Instrumentaion  plan related aspects at the plant site including safety, environment, operations, performance, quality, human resources, plant image and community relations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. 
   
2. Provide guidance totechnicians and trades helpers in the repair, maintenance and installation of Insturmenttion and control systems including daily process problem solving and measurement activities that enable continuous plant operations.
   
3. Ensure the operational viability of the plant by evaluating and maintaining the proper functioning of all Insturmenttion and control systems.
   
4. Design or update specifications and designs of electrical systems and equipment.
   
5. Manage costs and maintain records of the costs to contribute to the cost-efficient operation of the plant.
   
6. Devise ways to control processes using automation techniques and computers.
   
7. Review design of Insturmenttion installations and be responsible for maintenance to provide for continuous availability for operations.
   
8. In conjunction with Purchasing personnel, prepare maintenance and construction contracts to ensure contracted work meets specifications and cost-containment goals.
   
9. Establish and maintain communication with suppliers, contractors, and engineering firms outside of the company as well as with other technical personnel to ensure the necessary components are in place to complete maintenance projects in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. 
   
10. Provides direct supervision team assigned to maintenance projects to ensure the completion of the work according to the contract specifications and costs.
    
11. Participate in the daily coordination meeting to review corrective work orders, inspection reports and incidents and assist in the planning of maintenance work.
    
12. Assist in the successful completion of projects by coordinating instrumentationprojects and shutdowns with overall large capital projects directed by YCC personnel. 
    
13. Coordinate and implement all Instrumentation systems upgrades and changes in accordance with project plans and overall plant operational goals.
