Job Purpose
Provide support to the Team Leader in ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels are aware of the risks they face, and have implemented the necessary risk mitigation, prevention and preparedness activities to sustain the safety, security and wellbeing of their local citizens.
Core Responsibilities
-Ensuring the preparation by bodies at provincial and local levels of their own local risk assessments, as the basis for their local risk mitigation, prevention and preparedness activity.
-Ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels are effectively implementing mitigation and prevention activities.
-Ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels are implementing measures to improve their ability to respond effectively to the consequences of the risks identified in their local risk assessments.
-Ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels have developed suitable operating models, procedures and facilities that will allow them to respond effectively to crises.
-Ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels have staff who have received the necessary training to allow them to fulfil their roles effectively.
-Ensuring that designated bodies at provincial and local levels have undertaken local exercises, or participated effectively in national exercises
-Ensuring, including through the use of formal governance structures, effective information sharing and collaboration between designated bodies at provincial and local levels in their risk assessment and management activities.
