JOB PURPOSE
• Maintain and support of the network, servers and computer operating systems and ensure technical assistance on the hardware and software application functioning in the Terminal.
• Provide support SPARCS users by training, and addressing user based queries and concerns
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Monitor and Support Storage Area Network (SAN) System in Main and DR sites
• Manage and Administrate the windows domain accounts and user profiles in the AD
• Manage email Exchange user and monitor storage capacities with online mailbox backups
• Support and Manage the PBX communication system
• Ensure security of IT hardware, Network and computer systems
• Maintaining the user access rights on all Terminal Application Systems and monitoring on the implementation of security policies
• Manage and monitor the online data backup systems and validating the data with routine restore procedure
• Install and configure network switches, manage the core switch and maintain the configuration of VLAN and monitor the network traffic.
• Monitor the Main and DR site links for data transfer
• Monitor all ISP links for stable communication.
• Monitor and manage the threats from virus and spams, update the client workstations with latest antivirus definitions
• Assess the extent of SPARCS utilization
• Identify user training needs and develop a training program (specific to SPARCS) with Asst Manager – development and Systems
• Receive user complaints and understand details of the complaint
• Visit user site to understand the problem
• Provide troubleshooting for SPARCS related problems
• Coordinate with Asst Manager and System Analysts & Systems Administrator in case the problem cannot be immediately resolved. Ensure that matter is discussed with NAVIS
• Provide regular feedback about SPARCS related issues
• Notify System Analyst about SPARCS related issues
• Notify users about any upcoming enhancements
• Ensure user training is provided for the same
• Install and configure client PC, printers and print server devices
• Upgrade the user PC software licenses and hardware
• Conduct regular check up and inspection for maintenance of the servers, PCs and printers
• Attend user queries by phone
• Conduct diagnostic check and analyze the extent of problems
• Help the users to solve specific problems with the computer software or hardware (First Level User Support)
• Monitor the Operating System running on the servers
• Manage restarting and maintenance of the servers
• Manage network configuration and documentation
• Conduct UPS checkup
• Monitor towers used for wireless connections
• Responsible for safety & discipline in the work area
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in using Network, Hardware, Windows Server OS & SPARCS system
• Preferably experience as Systems analyst/ Network administrator in port / heavy engineering environment
• Knowledge of port operations preferred
