Field Senior Resident Construction Engineer Electrical position is construction management and application of electrical engineering expertise on electrical distribution and service utility systems for residential and building developments, or infrastructure and community construction projects.
Works with Senior Resident Construction Manager (SRCM) as Owner’s Representative responsible in monitoring and inspection of on-site electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities providing technical guidance to contractors, and utilizes his expertise to ensure contractors’ quality assurance and control as well as permanent works are constructed per the contract, in accordance with applicable codes, standards, approved drawings and specifications, budget and schedule.
Reports directly to the Senior Resident Construction Manager (SRCM) but shall receive daily administrative and technical direction in terms of project (s) objectives from the senior management of Construction dept. Including frequent Interfaces with other, End Users and Engineering Department staff. Daily contacts with Contractor’s on-site electrical and other divisions management staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Works with the senior resident construction manager (SRCM) and other project’s engineers.
Monitors construction contractors’ electrical installation and testing activities.
Witnesses electrical testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Reviews contractor-submitted shop drawings and as-built drawings, materials submittals, tie-in procedures, project schedules, and work permits and coordinates with the concerned departments for their comments.
Coordinates and organizes periodical and required meetings between the contractor and concerned departments to resolve interfacing problems during construction
conducts acceptance inspections and re-inspections of the completed permanent works thereafter, until all deficiencies are corrected and signed off by all
Reviews contractors’ invoices for completeness and correctness of installed quantities for the electrical portion of the permanent works.
Initiates and prepares for SRCM draft electrical related letters, memos or reports to contractors and other Departments.
Conducts periodical required meeting between the stockholders and the Contractor for project progress and to address any issues during project life cycle.
