JOB PURPOSE
•Manage overall maintenance, development and enhancement of network and computer systems and ensure technical assistance with the hardware and software (standard products like Microsoft) installation
• Manage the maintenance and troubleshooting of the terminal operating system
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Define policies and procedures for maintenance of all hardware equipment connected to the network
• Ensure that user queries are attended by support technicians
• Maintain contacts with authorized service center for hardware complaints that cannot be resolved by in house support technicians
• Manage maintenance contracts for hardware equipment
• Manage maintenance and support of all standard software problems in the network
• Ensure protection against virus infection
• Ensure maximum security protection by providing firewall and security updates
• Ensure installation and configuration of new hardware and software
• Manage user, account information
• Ensure security of IT hardware, network and computer systems
• Install and configure client PC and printers
• Plan and monitor installation and configuration of network devices (hubs, switches, etc)
• Manage restarting and maintenance of the servers
• Ensure regular maintenance of the servers, PCs and printers, UPS and RDTs
• Help the users to solve specific problems with the computer software or hardware (First Level User Support)
• Manage network configuration and documentation
• Monitor towers used for wireless connections
• Co-ordinate with vendors for spare parts availability Conduct training in usage of RDTs
• Identify user training needs and develop a training program (specific to SPARCS) with Asst Manager – development and Systems
• Receive user complaints. Visit user site to understand the problem
• Provide troubleshooting for SPARCS related problems
• Assist IT Head in preparing the budget
• Establish and implement Performance Testing Standards and Best Practices for IT department
• Identify and develop the department’s and DP World Jeddah’s technology and training requirements
• Plan and monitor internal training programs for department personnel
• Plan, monitor and analyse MIS reports
• Establish and maintain performance criteria (KPIs)
• Perform periodical scheduled performance review with reporting personnel
• Provide regular process control checks and initiate and support performance improvement activities
• Responsible for safety & discipline in the work area
• Implementation and compliance with Fatal Risk Standards
• Implementation and compliance with Safe Work Practices
• Implementation and compliance with HSE policy
• Investigate accidents in accordance with defined safety procedures
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in PC network, hardware and support systems
• Detailed knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems and Allied Systems
• Experience in port industry preferred
