The Post Holder: Will provide leadership for the Vocational Faculty staff and should be experienced in a discipline included in the current portfolio of vocational programmes. They will be able to identify and support outstanding teaching, learning and assessment through a variety of pedagogical approaches and will have a good understanding of the quality processes used in the further-education sector for performance management to achieve key organisational performance indicators.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting vocational staff relating to a number of differing specialisations.
• 
  
• Preparing and monitoring the labs readiness and performance.
• 
  
• Setting up professional development sessions for vocational staff.
• 
  
• Monitor and observe all safety roles and performance in labs.
• 
  
• Providing College leadership and management for all the programmes delivered in curriculum portfolio.
• 
  
• Be an active member of Curriculum Development team.
• 
  
• Help to develop and implement Processes which will ensure excellent teaching, learning and assessment in a consistent and standardised way.
• 
  
• Manage continuous development and delivery of teaching and learning.
• 
  
• Monitoring and reviewing targets for team leaders and where appropriate teaching staff.
• 
  
• Promoting a culture of high standards in setting and achieving targets for students and teachers alike.
• 
  
• Implementing a performance management framework.
• 
  
• Day to day operation of Department.
• 
  
• Assist in the establishment and implementation of appropriate systems, processes and performance management arrangements to monitor the overall performance Faculty.
• 
  
• Sharing information regularly to the College senior management team with accurate and verifiable evidence of performance across the faculty.
• 
  
• Ensure sustainable delivery of Vocational curriculum to targets, performance, quality and commitments.
• 
  
• Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• 
  
• Continuously strive to develop and improve performance and achieve high standards.
•
