Conduct and improve forecasting activities and methods to maintain effective material inventory levels.
Analyses pertinent data such as usage history, lead times, inventory, sales forecast and market trends to ensure accurate information in the preparation process of Material Requirement Plan’s (MRP’s).
Prepare, monitor and report inventory measures and performance indicators.
Contribute to the development, maintain and improve Material Requirement Plan’s (MRP’s) and work closely with Purchasing, Quality, Production, Technical functions to ensure material delivery as per the MRP that meets the requirements of the related functions.
Create and submit Purchase Requisitions using the company ERP system based on the updated MRP’s as necessary.
Follow-up with the Purchasing team about the status of issued purchase requisitions, the issuance of the related Purchase Orders, Purchase orders firm confirmation from the suppliers and the timely purchase orders delivery to the warehouses to ensure smooth production continuity as per the production schedule and take necessary corrective action(s) when needed.
Monitor Material levels and recommend liquidation plans for slow moving material and phasing in/out projects.
Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.
Maintain documentation and procedures for material planning processes and systems to ensure that material needs, and requirements are effectively met.
Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
Support assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with members of the purchasing team.
Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Any other reasonable request or work task as allocated by the Line Manager or other Senior Management.
