Purpose of the role:
The key purpose of this position is to co-ordinate, plan, organize and control Finished Goods hand-over activities in the shift to meet targets of production/service/quality at cost effective rates, while at the same time meeting the HSSE & QA expectations maintaining harmonious working relations in the plant. The position holder is expected to work closely with other team members reporting to the production manager
This is an important position within manufacturing and given the strategic position of TIDE plant, it provides an exciting opportunity for personal development and career progression within the Supply chain function for the right candidate.
Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role
• Lead the outbound team to deliver production volumes on schedule so that customer service targets are met
• Collaborate with rest of the production team to hand-over the production against weekly/daily schedule the same so as to achieve optimum utilization of resources and meet the delivery schedules 100 % in full on time
• Own the process of product transfer ensuring compliance to all systems and HSSE requirement
• Drive the delivery team to continuously improve upon its HSSE performance and achieve high standards expected from shop floor. Facilitate embedding the HSSE culture in the plant
• Drive the delivery team to continuously improve the line utilisation with optimum manpower and improving the line OEE by creating storage space to keep lines running
• Drive cost reduction through efficiency and productivity improvement in to deliver better conversion costs year on year
• Monitor and implement planning schedules in a manner that dispatch accuracy targets of the plant are met
• Support the Quality initiatives, including sustaining ISO/ OHSAS certification and TQM, to deliver best in class performance from the shift team
• Play a key role in maintaining a high level of motivation in his team and drive the development of shop floor personnel and managing shop floor discipline
• Prepare and distribute MIS reports viz. IFOT, Schedule adherence, capacity utilisation & turnaround of storage spaces
• Act as response team member for crisis / continuity management, with accountabilities consistent with relevant response plans and as assigned by the response team leader
5. Key challenges faced on the role
• Managing complexity in regards of balancing production vs dispatch
• Managing the timely hand-over as per daily schedule with optimum manpower & minimum delays
• Managing people both loaders and FL operators amicably
• Driving operational efficiencies
