To exercise the highest possible standard of patient care according to the clinical privileges and available resources. To participate in the teaching and training activities in the department.

 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 
   
2. Abides by the medical Staff by laws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical staff and those specific to the department.
   
3. Uses clinical skills and methods appropriate to a primary care setting to analyze the patient’s complaints and establish a plan of action in his/her best interest.
   
4. Initiates investigations which will confirm, establish or rule out diagnosis, or be of benefit to the patient.
   
5. Refers patients for appropriate specialist opinion or treatment as deemed necessary for the patient.
   
6. Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patients/ families in an effort to promote compliance and shared participation in a caring environment.
   
7. Follows up those patients with on-going or chronic illness or when a therapeutic response requires evaluation.
   
8. Carries other clinical duties as assigned by the Chairman of Family Medicine and in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
   
9. Teaches staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the Chairman of Family Medicine in planning a program of career development for trainees.
   
10. Participates in the improvement of quality patient care (Total Quality Management Program, Quality Assessment Improved Program), as applicable.
    
11. Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education.
    
12. Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects and departmental CME.
    
13. Deputizes for his/her superior as required and shares workload during the absence of colleagues.
    
14. Strives to improve standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.
    
15. Participate in the Major Disaster Plan of the hospital, as indicated.
    
16. Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned with the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.
    
17. Responsible to attend medical supervisor clinic according to the need of schedule.
    

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 
   
2. Graduate from a recognized medical school.
   
3. Saudi Board, or Arab Board, FCPS, or equivalent higher qualification in Family Medicine.
   
4. Clinical Diplomas, e.g. Desirable fellowship, Master, Clinical Diploma in FMC, DCH, DRCOG, or DTMOH.
   

 

 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1. 
   
2. Saudi Board, or Arab Board, or FCPS or equivalent higher.
   
3. Some post qualification experience in Family Medicine
