As the BIM Manager for the Project Management Office (PMO), the candidate will provide support to the PMO in reviewing BIM deliverables and working with others in the office on the PMO team to review BOQs and Schedules developed in the BIM environment.
In addition, BIM LOD 600 may be required for facility management purposes. The candidate will support the PMO by providing training, oversight, development (if needed) and viewing BIM models. The BIM manager will coordinate design packages submitted in BIM Revit Suites. He will provide QA/QC support by ensuring the quality of the project designs are in conformance with approved BIM standards and codes.
Organizational Relationship:
Candidate will report to the PMO Design Director and the Deputy Program Manager. The candidate will interact and represent the client with Parsons’ overseeing the BIM requirements of the program.
Major Activities Performed:
Assist in developing comprehensive RFPs for BIM 3D Design contracts, contract document deliverables, and negotiate scope-of-work, design briefs, deliverables, and price with the A/E.
Experience working with Autodesk Navisworks and creating a final model that coordinates all the discipline models is required. Must have experience with clash detection and coordination of all services.
To implement BIM training modules for key staff and maintain training plans
Participate in departmental strategic planning.
To participate in the process of developing BIM standards for projects across the project design program.
To develop and maintain Revit content libraries through creation of families, etc.
To provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally.
To ensure that the implementation of BIM aligns with the project design strategy and links appropriately with the program.
Develop procedures to facilitate sharing of content and knowledge throughout the design process.
BIM experience with 3D rendering and visualization, BOQ & cost estimation, analysis and simulations, and specification linking etc., is required.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, GIS, Graphics Design or client-approved degree required from an accredited university. Degree in other disciplines acceptable with record of designing and managing 3D BIM Revit models.
Master’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred, but not required.
Minimum 15 years of experience required with 7 years minimum specifically in using BIM tools for design/construction on mega projects.
Candidate must show experience designing, and managing BIM design in large projects such as large multi-story condominiums, 5-star hotels, sky rise office buildings, mixed-use developments, or other PMO select approved projects on their CV in order to be considered.
This is an extremely large project and requires a design manager with large (mega) project experience.
Must also possess good management skills as the candidate will be distributing work among BOQ staff, schedulers, and other engineering/architectural disciplines.
Good experience in review and understanding cost estimating and BoQ as related to the BIM platform. Autodesk Revit hands on experience a must with experience in other BIM software platforms a plus.
Must be able to manage a team of Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Revit Structural, and Civil 3D teams in reviewing and extracting information from models to support the PIF DMO.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English. Ability to communicate in Arabic is a plus, but not required.
Experience with software applications such as: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, P6/MS Project, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred as this is a BIM design management position. Proficiency is required in BIM software, but only general knowledge in P6, AutoCAD, etc., is needed.
