The Contracts Manager will provide broad-based and thorough contracts advisory to the project management group through the entire project life cycle. The position holder will be responsible to deliver clear and professional advice and shall support the JODC projects portfolio focusing on initiation, formation, contractual risk mitigation and claims management to achieve success for these high-end and among the largest hospitality development projects in the Middle-East.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
Risk Mitigation
• Pro-actively identifying opportunities and risks.
• Assist in the development of strategy to mitigate or transfer risk.
• Assist with negotiation of Risks allocation during the formation of Contracts Terms & Conditions.
Claims Prevention
• High-quality fact finding, Forensic assessment, reporting and/or advice relating to Claims.
• Lead, coordinate and administer delay and disruption claims, including loss assessment and negotiations with proponents and third parties.
• When required, represent the Department/Division as part of incident investigation committees.
• When required, negotiate and finalize claims settlements and pursue recovery from third parties.
• As a Contract Manager for Formation and Risks, the applicant may be required to provide claims, contractual or commercial advice to other relevant project personnel such as Contract Administration Managers and/or other Project personnel.
Contracts Formation
• Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements, contract terms and conditions.
• Effectively allocate the identified risks in the terms and conditions of the Contracts.
• Skill in working and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with other project functional groups.
