- Directly reporting to the editor in chief the Managing Editor/Digital position is instrumental in terms of Strategy, Planning and Implementation. This position should reflect the vision of brand as a market and opinion leader in KSA.
- Liaises closely with the editor in chief and the rest of the editorial management team
- Heads the digital team whether it is a stand-alone team or an atomized team spread within the different editorial sections
- Overlooks and manages the digital team working hours to ensure an optimized digital coverage bridging the gap between an issue of the newspaper and the next issue sections
- Introduces and implement the appraisal culture for his team members to measure their performance, address weaknesses and improve the digital output
- Accountable for the published content in particular the content that is not published in the print issue
- Proposes, jointly with the Digital Marketing Manager a yearly digital strategy for the web and social media in coordination with the editorial management team and Top Management
- Plans and implements, jointly with the Digital Marketing Manager, a 3 months forward planned cross sections digital editorial calendar in coordination with the editorial management team and Top Management, based on the upcoming events and occasions in current affairs, business, sports as well as social and lifestyle
- Jointly with the Digital Marketing Manager, analyses and interprets Google analytics and social media analytics reports in coordination with the Senior Producer/Digital and reports the outcome and the necessary measures needing to be taken to the Editor in Chief and the Editorial Management, and Top Management
- Identifies and recruit new pens for special articles and/or columns related to subjects of interest to the audience like technology, fashion sports etc…
- Identifies, jointly with the Digital Marketing Manager, local and regional digital influencers, make permanent contact with them through correspondence, and/or business gathering events for the purpose of enlarging the network of influencers that helps enhance the positioning of on the digital map
