Tasks:

The Advisor to the Head Of Delegation is part of the management team. S/he will:

• Advise the head of delegation and his/her deputy;
• 
  
• Provide analysis in written and orally;
• 
  
• Advise and support other departments;
• 
  
• Maintain and enlarge the network of interlocutors for the delegation;
• 
  
• Provide support for humanitarian diplomacy strategy and activities;
• 
  
• Liaise and coordinate with other ICRC departments and file holders,
  under the supervision of the HoD.
• 
  

Activities and Responsibilities:

• Maintains and develops the network of interlocutors
  and contributes to enhancing the acceptance of the ICRC;
• 
  
• Analyze the general situation and the humanitarian and
  social environment.
• 
  
• Uses and develops tools and means of reporting and
  analysis, depending on internal requirement and the evolution of the situation
  (e.g. mapping of key stakeholders, monthly summaries of key information);
• 
  
• Acts as focal point for ICRC interaction with
  religious institutions;
• 
  
• Acts as focal point for think tanks and institutions,
  in liaison with other departments;
• 
  
• Acts as focal point for regional intergovernmental
  organizations, and liaises for that with other departments;
• 
  
• Provides support and briefings to program
  coordinators, and informs on all social, political and economic developments
  that might affect the implementation of the ongoing and future ICRC programs
  and activities;
• 
  
• Contributes to the implementation of the objectives as set out in the annual planning.
•
