The Urban Planner (Technical Support) is responsible for reviewing the submitted technical proposals from the developers within the scope of the land utilization and infrastructure aspects for affordable housing projects. These consist of activities like reviewing the beneficiary grant lands, and reviewing the infrastructure design of the submitted proposals
Detailed Duties
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports of Technical Department to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
Policies, Processes & Procedures
• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Safety, Quality & Environment
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Prepare the design of Master Plan checklist for projects
• Reviewing the design of Master Plan and drawings for buildings submitted by developers based on the prepared checklist
• Review the costing of the construction
• Identify non-aligned items and escalate them to the project manager
• Identify areas of improvement and propose new design approach in collaboration with technical studies in urban planning where needed
• Reviewing the projects specifications reports and analyzing projects offers to support developer selection and tendering process
• Review and approve all Master Plan aspects of any raised change requests and project extensions
• Review the work of land availability and readiness
• Review the execution of the grant lands delivery to the beneficiaries
• Provide Urban Planning support to develop the readiness of the lands
