Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the QA/QC Civil Engineer’s job is to oversee The company’s QA/QC functions, ensuring that The company’s operations abide by client requirements, by industry standards, and by The company’s internal quality standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Establishes and enhance quality policies and procedures to assure that the company provides its customer with reliable services which are designed, constructed and accomplished according to specifications which are of consistent quality and cost effective.
• Responsible for planning and monitoring quality assurance measures.
• Implements the quality assurance policy defined by the project manager on The Company's services.
• Liaison and coordination with the 3rd party certification organizations.
• Develop quality plans for the company’s projects.
• Ensure the proper implementation and compliance of the quality control system within the project sites.
• Implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of the company quality assurance manual and quality procedure.
• Perform and report on internal quality audits of the company quality system, procedures, and processes.
• Maintain, review and administer quality system procedures including non-conformance reports, customer feedback, corrective and preventive actions.
• Regular projects visits to support, enhance and train quality control staff and engineers.
• Regular reporting about projects adherence to the published quality standards and to clients contractual requirements.
• Prepare method of statements and construction procedures.
• Ensure that all the materials to be used and installed conforms to the project relevant MIR’s and approval of the client.
• Ensure that the project quality plan is implemented at all times during the stages of works up to hand over and commissioning.
• Maintain and update records for all quality documents.
• Follow up day to day site inspection and all the open pending RFI’.
Communications and Working Relationships:
• Coordinates with the Estimation unit to establish the preliminary quality plan during bidding.
• Coordinates with the Project Managers to ensure that quality plan and construction plan are aligned.
• Coordinates with Procurement for conducting inspections of purchased materials.
• Coordinates with client appointed quality inspection teams to resolve complex QA/QC issues.
• Interacts and manages all QA/QC on site staff and operational issues on a daily basis.
• Coordinates with local and international organizations/institutions for updating The Company's standards.
• Coordinates with ISO Certifiers to ensure The Company is complying with ISO Procedures.
