• Optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position
• 
  
• Take overall control of the company’s accounting function
• 
  
• Has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of company strategy and is expected to analyze figures and implement recommendations based on these findings, with the most profitable outcomes
• 
  
• Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
• 
  
• Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk
• 
  
• Responsible for cash flow to meet company’s obligations
• 
  
• Responsible on alerting management on P&L and guidance on any deviation
• 
  
• Provide input to ensure profitability of company
• 
  
• Supervise the preparation of various financial statements and reports as required by line managers and senior management
• 
  
• Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll
• 
  
• Update and implement financial policies and procedures
• 
  
• Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls
• 
  
• Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records
• 
  
• Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies
• 
  
• Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues
• 
  
• Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls
• 
  
• Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems
• 
  
• Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed
• 
  
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
• 
  
• Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting
• 
  
• Develop the organization’s funding base to secure present and future service delivery
• 
  
• Liaise and negotiate, as appropriate, with the funding authority and other funding sources on future service delivery initiatives and developments in conjunction with the operations Manager
• 
  
• Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored, including credit control
• 
  
• Advise on the proper allocation of resources
• 
  
• Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times
• 
  
• Make regular reports on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets
• 
  
• Ensure that all financial reporting obligations are within the budget lines for the fiscal year
• 
  
• Act as cheque signatory for and authorize expenditure up to limits as agreed by company
• 
  
• Lead & develop the finance team
• 
  
• Provide internal/external training both orally and in writing on accounting systems, procedures and practices
• 
  
• Review various reports, forecasts, and budgets including: monthly and annual forecasts; statutory & management reports; as well as other financial reports when and as needed
• 
  
• Interprets various accounting data, analyzes reports and recommends and/or initiates actions to be taken
• 
  
• Prepares and/or directs the preparation of special statistical reports, detailed cost accounting information, surveys or analyses of a complex and difficult nature for management
• 
  
• Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors
•
