The primary responsibilities of a video surveillance operator is maintaining the control center equipment. A monitoring system is only as good as its equipment, This includes verifying that all external cameras are set up and broadcasting, and that all the video storage facilities -- video tape be they computer servers -- are online and functioning.
The operator must check to see that fresh videotapes are inserted into analog recording machines and that digital drive capture systems have enough free space available for the next 24 hours.
• In-case any security personal reports a safety breach, to start investigating
• Assists in the preparation of periodical reports regarding Safety situation for the DP World Jeddah Management and the Regional Office
• Implementation and Compliance with DP World Fatal Risk and Safety Standards
• Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting equipment, and access points;.
• Obtains help by sounding alarms.
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
• Controls traffic by directing drivers.
• Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
• Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
