Develops and establishes specifications and performance test requirements for equipment to be purchased.
Coordinates engineering, tool design, purchasing, and other activities to facilitate production and procurement of tooling.
Coordinates procurement and production activities to expedite movement of tools between departments or vendors.
Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, and availability of parts and equipment.
Evaluates tooling orders to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or purchased from outside vendors.
Calculates and records tool requirements, and maintains records of procurement, status, and disposition information.
Prepares requisitions for tooling purchases and processes requests for tool repairs.
Investigates equipment makers and potential suppliers, and recommends those most desirable.
Advises personnel, suppliers, and customers of nature and function of parts and equipment.
Arranges conferences between suppliers, engineers, purchasers, inspectors, and other personnel to facilitate procurement process.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing and implementing the procurement strategy and policy, conducting and with involvement in all major commercial negotiations and buying decisions and monitoring agreement across the scheme are essential and obligatory. He must develop the procurement strategy as well as conducting reviews of supporting policies that underpin the business objectives and ensure they are in accordance with best commercial practice
