An exciting position has arisen for a Channel Sales Manager to manage the Western Province Sales Channel. Providing the cluster sales management a holistic view on marketing, capacity and sales activities. To deliver volume and revenue targets for imports, exports & cross trades while remaining focused on customer relationship building. If you have led a team, worked within sales and are customer focused then this could be the next position for you.


Responsibilities include;


- Sales Management;
- Sales Pipeline Management and Forecasting.
- Deliver agreed targets and delivery plans.
- Oversee customer satisfaction survey.
- Manage Customer Segmentation.
- Monitor market and competition activities and to give feedback to TNM and Cluster sales.
- Coaching and Development;
- Provide ongoing coaching to sales reps on setting account strategies, creating account plans, proposal development, and negotiation and service delivery.
- Challenges and supports sales reps in identifying, prioritizing and taking profit improvement actions.
- Develop sales force skills by identifying sales rep strengths and weaknesses via individual development and/or group training.
- Coordinate product/market specific training as needed.
- Sales support;
- Maintain relationships with top accounts and participate in sales calls.
- Maintain relationships with other sales channels managers and departments to facilitate best practice sharing.
- Approve proposals and contract terms for accounts that require sales handling beyond established guidelines.
- To ensure that sufficient capacity is available for all strings to facilitate sales in meeting targets.
- Develop local sales support tools and assist in building individual customer strategies, including identification of up-selling opportunities.
- Customer Relations;
- Own the overall customer relationship for existing customers, as well as potential new customers.
- Establish strong, multi-level, win/win relationships with new and existing customers (including main decision makers and influencers).
- Actively engage Customer Service into the customer relationship to ensure customers know relevant contact points in case of service failures.
- Effectively handover to Customer Service, Operations, Finance etc. for terms and conditions agreed with customers in their contracts.
- Sales team performance;
- Hold sales rep reviews focusing on overall profitability and specific accounts.
- Continually educate and train sales force on managing profitable accounts.
- Set goals with sales reps and track progress using KPIs.
- Manage Sales process;
- Manage the selling process to external customers, including pricing and contract negotiations.
- Ensure that Salesforce is actively used as part of the daily sales process.
- Pro-actively search, engage, qualify and develop new accounts.
- Identify account needs, opportunities and key buying factors for existing customers, and formalize those into account plans and strategies.
- To lead on sales channel management and actively carry out campaign management.
- Ensure mapping of and full penetration into customers’ organization.
- Continuously drive to improve customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that relevant sales systems are updates by the sales organization.
- A leader that inspires, motivates, coaches, communicates & collaborates.
